The Simple Solution

I'm
Laura Lee Sparks, owner of The Simple Solution and I'm delighted
to have the opportunity to tell you a little about myself and my
business.
I began The Simple Solution after 20+ years
of working in law firms and accounting firms. After leaving
the corporate world, I continued my working relationship with one
of the Senior Partners. We realized that I could continue
doing just what I had done in-house from my own office, utilizing
technology. (Of course he missed having me deliver his morning
coffee!)
Seven years later, and many advancements in technology, we continue to enjoy our virtual relationship and I have spread my wings a little further and began working with coaches and professional speakers.
Because I
love what I do and love to learn, I stay committed to keeping
up with technology. This allows my clients reap the benefits of new technology without having to endure the learning curve.
Not only is the success of my business and my clients important to me, but also
the perception, professionalism and utilization of the virtual assistance industry
as a whole. Because of this I serve on the Steering Committee of the Virtual Assistant Chamber of Commerce and I am a member of the Southeastern Virtual Assistant Group.
Personal
I am happily married to my very best friend and
supporter. We have two children: a daughter who just turned 16,
and a son who is 11. We live in a rural community in the Florida
Panhandle. I grew up in South Florida and spent my corporate
days working in the big cities, so working virtually allows me to
fulfill my professional goals while maintaining the simplicity of
life in the country. For fun, I love hanging out with my family,
going to the beach, snorkeling, boating, reading and spending time
with friends.
Values and Strengths
Honesty and integrity are very important to me.
I believe they are important character traits not only in business,
but in all aspects of our lives. I believe in taking responsibility
for your actions. I apply these values in my client relationships
by being very honest about my capabilities and only accepting assignments
which I know I can carry out with the utmost of efficiency and accuracy. I uphold a strong Professional Code of Conduct and Ethics which you can read here.
I believe in giving my clients my very best in
quality and professionalism. I enjoy helping others succeed and
I love to dream big. I enjoy abstract thinking and have a knack
for innovation, as well as the courage to pursue it. I am sharp,
tend to be a quick learner and I am not easily daunted in the face
of stress. I have a collaborative spirit, love to brainstorm and
I work well with others.
I do not like to reinvent a wheel, but do like
to improve it when there is a need. These values and strengths combined
allow me to assess your needs, assist in the areas in which I am
most efficient and help you to bring your business to higher levels
of success.
Professional Background
My career spans 20+ years, starting at age 14
as a file clerk for a sole practice attorney and continuing in the
corporate realm until I became the legal assistant/office manager
to the Senior Partner in a medium size firm. I have continued as
his legal assistant and personal assistant virtually since 1999.
The legal profession has always had my heart; since I was a child,
I have loved learning about legal processes and debating.
Some of my many responsibilities while working
with law firms include: dictation, transcription, legal research,
real estate pre- and post-closing including title work, client and
witness interviews, brainstorming on cases, case management, preparation
of all types of legal documents including filing in the appropriate
courts, office management including staffing and designing processes,
time and billing, computer training, calendar management, personal
assistance, and bookkeeping for not only the firms I worked for,
but a multitude of our clients in various types of businesses.
Since opening my business I have learned many things about running a small professional service business including marketing, networking, and sales cycles. I handle a great many tasks for my clientele incl
Ideal Client
I work best with individuals who are forward thinking,
good communicators and fairly organized. They need not be a computer
whiz, but a basic understanding of computers and email is a must.
They are ready to let go of the work that monopolizes their time
and they value quality and professional service. They are not micromanagers,
are open-minded and will welcome my input and suggestions. I am
committed to the success of my clients and strive to produce top-quality
results for them. This requires a commitment from both parties.
